Kings Creek Station

Now we really are in the outback! We're staying for four nights at Kings Creek Station, within driving distance of King's Canyon.  It's a huge outback station with camping facilities.  There is no mobile phone access, and the mail is collected once a week.  We have power, but it is supplied by a generator and gets turned off for a bit once a day to change over to the second generator.
Philip and I are relaxing and  the kids are running around in bare feet with the farm dogs, getting more and more orange (the red dust makes them look as though they have fake tans!)  We'll take a look at Kings Canyon tomorrow, and maybe we'll even do one of the camel rides here at Kings Creek... we'll see how the budget stretches! Without my mobile phone I have no internet access except from an ancient little computer in the kiosk, which has satelite connection and is slow! I can't upload any photos, and won't be updating this blog again till we get to Alice Springs later in the week. So for now it's over and out!

Theo was worried when he could not get through on your phone. Now I'm able to tell him why.
