Two dry changes of clothes later we decided to take them into town, where we needed to do some grocery shopping. We strolled up the main street, looked at all the little shops and historical buildings and stopped by at the tourist information centre to ask advice about activities to do while we're here. Arthur stopped in front of one of the signs and read: "S.W.E.E.T-sweet S.H.O.P- what's that word, Mum?" I pointed out how to say "SH" and Esther said, "Yum, can we go in?" They got a little bit of money each, and had fun looking at everything in the shop. Esther chose a sugar mouse, because the price tag was just the amount she had to spend.
When we got back to the caravan park, the weather had become warm and sunny, so I changed the kids into shorts and bare feet and told them not to get too wet. They ran off and spent the next four hours or so jumping, running, splashing, making sandcastles and mud pies... but staying relatively dry!
Meanwhile, Philip set up the annexe for the first time- a bit of a puzzle, but he got there in the end. As for me, I sat in the sun and fell asleep! All of us have a bit of colour in our cheeks after the first sunny day since we started out!
Tomorrow we're planning to explore the area a bit, with a lavender farm and a "whispering wall" on the agenda... should be fun!
