Darwin- Settling in.

Arthur was too hot to sleep well last night- whether from a bit of a fever or because of the tropical heat we're not sure.  He was not himself this morning, either, and as Philip needed to do a few things in town I stayed at home with the children.  Esther spent most of the morning doing Reading Eggs on the computer, while Arthur sat on my bed and watched ABC Kids until he fell asleep.

I went for a little walk around the property but I was tired too (when Arthur is awake, I usually am, too!) so I had a nap in the air-conditioned caravan myself!

This evening we met some friends of Helen's at the foreshore for a picnic.  The cooler evening breeze off the sea was lovely, and the tropical sunset over the water was beautiful!

Jacqualina and John Vreeling with their daughter; Helen van Hulst. Rex is under the table.

The saga of the car problems continues- Philip discovered this morning that issues he's been having were not due to the level-rides being an inferior brand but because his suspension needed replacing.  The car will have to visit a mechanic again tomorrow.  We have the loan of another car, so we'll be able to do some sightseeing while we wait for the job to be finished.  Maybe there will be some more reptile pictures tomorrow night! This was the only one I saw today!
